Introductory Multipitch Climbing Course July 6th – 8th, 2026

Here you can sign up for the Introductory Multipitch Climbing course from 6th to 8th of July, organized by Club Montagne!

Under instructions of a mountain guide you will learn how to plan and climb a multipitch route, including the necessary techniques like setting up a belay station and abseiling. The exact course content is determined by the mountain guide, but feel free to bring your own ideas.

Important: This course is neither a climbing beginner's course nor a rock climbing beginner's course. The prerequisite is the ability to lead climb a 5a or 5b route on rock.

The course will consist of three days, 6th to 8th of July, and we will spend the two nights at the camping site Les Marécottes (close to Salvan, Martigny). Camping fee, food and transport are not covered by the course fee of 325 CHF, which is only including the mountain guide for 3 days).

Regarding the equipment, you can find the full list here. Everyone is responsible to bring their own personal gear, the team gear will be organized by us as a group. You can rent some of your gear for free at the Club Montagne rental sessions, but we cannot guarantee to have enough for everyone. More information follow.

Important: Please mind that the sign-up consists of two steps which allows us organizers to check the climbing prerequisites and, if applicable, your student status for the Agepoly discount . Only after we have confirmed your registration, you will be guaranteed a spot and you will be asked to pay.

You will have 3 days to pay from the moment you receive our confirmation, afterwards we will pass the spot to the next on the waiting list.

No refund is possible, in case you cannot take part, you can find a person to replace you (with our help, but there is no guarantee from our side).

If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me, Steffi, via stefanie.kiess@epfl.ch!

Club Montagne will soon publish further courses, probably including another multipitch course in September. Stay up to date via Slack and Instagram!
